WHAT IS IT?

Tômtex provides an alternative to animal and faux leather made from shell seafood waste and coffee grounds. Since both seafood and coffee ground waste recycling is not yet well developed, using it as a feedstock helps eliminate the issue with their end of life. Contrary to some vegan leather, Tômtex is plastic-free and can be recycled or naturally decomposed.

HOW IS IT MADE?

Tômtex is made from shell seafood waste like crab, shrimp, and lobster shell waste together with waste coffee ground that would otherwise be largely landfilled. The seafood waste material acts as an antimicrobial and antioxidant. The material can be pressed into various shapes ranging from complex patterns to structures similar to exotic animal skins.
