WHAT IS IT?

Ananas Anam, the makers of Piñatex®, an innovative natural textile made from waste pineapple leaf fiber, is now a Certified B Corporation®. Piñatex® is made of ?bre from the waste leaves of the pineapple plant. The leaves are the byproduct of existing agriculture, and their use creates an additional income stream for farming communities. Piñatex® is a natural, sustainably sourced, cruelty-free material.

HOW IS IT MADE?

These leaves are a byproduct of the existing pineapple harvest, so the raw material requires no additional environmental resources to produce. This fluff-like pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) gets mixed with a corn-based polylactic acid (PLA) and undergoes a mechanical process to create Piñafelt, a non-woven mesh that forms the base of all Piñatex collections.
