WHAT IS IT?

CelluComp produces micro-fibrillated cellulose from root vegetable waste. The waste already has a basic structure which CalloComp build upon. The resulting material, Curran, is light, strong, resists pH changes, and has other beneficial properties such as the ability to form a film and being suspension. It is a biocomposite that can be used to add to water-based formulas giving it versatile applications.

HOW IS IT MADE?

They use nanocellulose from root vegetables like carrots or sugar beet pulp, a by-product of the sugar industry. The production uses safe and non-toxic materials and is produced with low energy or chemical inputs. They recycle water and produce energy from the methane in their waste stream.
