WHAT IS IT?

BioMASON is a new technology to produce cement bricks. Building on natural marine cement formation, a method was developed to grow cement using microorganisms. Instead of burning calcium carbonate, they grow calcium carbonate in a biologically controlled process.

HOW IS IT MADE?

BioMASON is produced by mixing an aggregate with bacteria and nutrients and a solution made up of water and calcium. The block is then pressed to shape. By being fed with the aqueous solution, the microorganisms harden the block.
