Design thinking
15 June 2020
Design thinking is a human-centred approach towards (complex) problems which are seen and (re)defined as design challenges. In order to tackle these challenges, a non-linear, iterative process seeks to understand users, challenges assumptions, redefines problems and creates solutions to prototype and test in its actual context. Design Thinking consists of five phases that are extracted from a creative design process and translated/ captured in five simplified steps that can be run through simultaneously: Empathise, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test. Design Thinking is both a mindset, a method and an approach and can be applied in a variety of fields.
